Opening Calls:

Corn stead to 1 lower

Beans 2-3 lower

Wheat 3 to 5 higher

Starting out the day on no new news.

It was rumored that China has purchased beans from the U.S., but traders are still waiting to verify and hear things are getting loaded and in port to ship.

In the meantime, basis in Brazil is widening in the new crop time slot. This will make marketers in the U.S. nervous, because now their beans would be cheaper in February and March than the U.S. beans.

Export numbers will be closely monitored in the next 30 days. Watching corn and bean shipments to China.

Landus Cooperative invites members to RSVP, by tomorrow, for the annual meeting Tuesday, December 18, 2018 to hear from USDA trade counsel, Jason Hafemeister. For more details click here.
