Corn 1-2 Lower
Soybeans 3-4 Lower
Corn and soybeans are trading lower this morning. New sanctions on $200 billion of Chinese products will go into effect Sept 24th. 10% initially, rising to 25 % at the end of the year.
Crop condition report was released yesterday. Nationally, corn was unchanged at 68% good/excellent and beans fell from 68% to 67%.
September dollar index is trading lower this morning while the October crude oil contract is trading higher.
NOPA crush came in at 159 bushels yesterday, which was the largest crush on record for the month of August.
We are hearing some talk of ethanol plants in the Midwest shutting down or slowing down due to negative margins.
