Corn unchanged to 1 higher
Soybeans down 5 to 6
Corn contracts closed down slightly lower yesterday. Export sales indicated old crop sales during the week of 4/19 at 697,073 MT, 7.84% lower than this time last year and 36.15% down from a week ago. A sale of 4 million bushels was announced to unknown. With minimal news to push corn, the positive trade this morning can most likely be contributed to strength in the wheat market.
Soybeans closed steady to slightly higher yesterday. Export sales report showed 371,303 MT of old crop sales the week of 4/19, below expectations and last week but 174.6% larger than this time last year. Weather continues to look positive and we are still awaiting news from the trade negotiations with U.S. and China, so trade appears to be backing off ahead of the weekend.

This will be a big planting and/or field prep weekend in a lot of places around the state, please be safe!
