Opening calls:
Corn down 1 to 2 cents
Soybeans down 10 to 13 cents
Good morning!
Looks like the soybean market has found a top for the time being and is searching for a bottom.
We did not see anything unexpected in yesterday's report, rather trade reacted due to numbers that were "more" or "less" than traders were looking for. Trade has priced the lower soybean numbers in Argentina the last few weeks, so the 7
MMT drop in the country's production did not inspire the reaction many were hoping for. Traders were probably most pleasantly surprised by the corn numbers in yesterday's report, and the market responded by pushing corn well into the green by the close.
Today we will be in Menlo at 11am for our member meeting! The next meeting will be in Templeton on the 21st.
