Opening Calls:

Corn down 1-3

Beans down 6-10

Wheat down 5-8

Beans are the leading downward trend this morning because of South American weather, mainly uncertainty (which currently leans favorably to yields) in Argentina. As of this morning, nearby March soybeans on the board are testing the support of the 100 day moving average.

U.S. dollar is lower. January was the biggest drop in the dollar index since April of 2015.

Today starts the averaging process for determining crop insurance prices. The average will be using December corn futures and November bean futures.

Today is the final day of the Iowa Power Show in Des Moines at the Iowa Event Center. Stop by the Landus Cooperative Booth!

Also, the final meeting for the Innovators Meetings will be Monday, Feb 5th at Spring Lake Golf Course in Wall Lake.

Registration at 3:15, 3:45 is meeting, and 5:00 is Social hour.  Lots of useful grain and agronomy information!
