Corn steady to -1
Beans +3 to +4
After a slight rally at the close yesterday, corn traded lower overnight, but in a very narrow range, with March only showing a 1/2 cent range of 3.51 3/4 to 3.52 1/4, and stopping trade at 3.52. July and December of 2018 fairly similar. Not much news to trade and not a lot of traders around in this limbo week for the CBOT.
Beans fared a little better, but traded both sides of yesterdays close, with January up 3 1/4 at the break in a 6 cent range. July and November 2018 very similar with all three stopping trade near the high of the session, after beginning slightly lower in the overnight session.
Most of the news is centered on the bitter cold in the Midwest and low temps elsewhere in the U.S. Next up will be the January 12th USDA reports. Could be some slow news days until then.
