The corn and soybean markets were higher last night on very little news – maybe a little short-covering as some folks took profits overnight.  The weekly export sales report was out at 7:30 this morning and the numbers were friendly to soybeans as old crop sales were above guesses and new crop sales were strong. It was a bit bearish to corn as old crop sales came in below trade estimates while new crop sales were just OK.  Other than that, things look pretty quiet. Farmer selling has slowed down considerably and basis/spreads are starting to reflect that.

Opening Calls

Corn 2 to 4 cents higher

Soybeans 8 to 12 cents higher

Have a great day!
