The corn market was lower for most of the night but popped up right before the 7:45am pause to trade a touch higher. Soybeans spent the night trading mostly higher, thanks in large part to the wet weather forecasts.  This afternoon we will get another Crop Progress and Conditions report and it is expected to show soybeans around 90% planted (normally they are 95-96% planted at this time).  Most eyes will be on Missouri and Kansas as last week Missouri was only 42% planted and Kansas was 57% planted. The conditions portion of the report is expected to show some declines in the good-to-excellent ratings on both corn and soybeans thanks to excessive precipitation the last week.  In outside market news this morning, there is optimism in the trade that a Greek debt deal might be reached later today which could push the $US around if so.  Currently I show the US dollar around unchanged from Friday.

Opening Calls

Corn steady/mixed

Soybeans 5 to 7 cents higher

Have a great day!
