It looks to be a quiet week with limited volume with Christmas coming on Thursday this year.  The only real news story I am picking up on this morning revolves around Russia.  After a week of speculation last week regarding whether or not the Russian Government would impose export restrictions they Russian Deputy Prime Minister has now reported that they will be putting a tax on grain exports.  This has wheat prices firmer this morning as a result.

Other than that, expect a slow, mixed trade as the market drifts through the holidays.  Weather in South America remains excellent and the forecasts call for those conditions to continue.  Without a major change in world news (either weather or politics) price upside should remain limited and futures could slip as we head into the New Year.

Opening Calls

Corn steady to 1c lower

Soybeans 2 to 4 cents lower

Have a great day!
