The corn and soybean markets look to start the day mixed to lower. The $US is higher this morning which pressured most commodities during the overnight trade. Weather in South America looks mostly favorable for planting. There is a mix of wet and dry areas throughout Brazil and Argentina with nothing overly dry or wet to threaten planting progress.
So… look for a quiet day today with price action like determined by the direction of fund/spec money. The nasty cold weather we are currently experiencing looks to improve in the extended 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks. Also, along with this warmer weather a more ‘active’ precip pattern is likely to emerge.
Corn 3 to 4 cents lower
Soybeans steady to a couple cents lower
Have a great day!
