WEEKLY GRAIN TALKING POINTS

·        WEATHER NOT COOPERATING VERY WELL TO GET HARVEST GOING.  FORECAST FOR NEXT WEEK LOOKS COOL AND DRY.  LET’S HOPE THEY’RE RIGHT ON THAT.

·        SAME OLD TREND FOR CORN AND BEAN PRICES….BIG CROP, AMPLE SUPPLIES WORLDWIDE.   NEXT USDA SUPPLY/DEMAND REPORT IS FRI OCT10.  BE WARY OF ADDITIONAL YIELD INCREASES.

·        US DOLLAR REALLY SOARING LATELY, HURTING OUR CORN/WHEAT EXPORTS COMPARED TO OTHER WORLD SUPPLIERS.

·        ETHANOL/GASOLINE/CRUDE OIL PRICES ALL SHARPLY LOWER LATELY.  WILL BE NICE TO SEE GAS BELOW $3 AGAIN.

·        LIVESTOCK SECTOR REMAINS VERY PROFITABLE.

·        RAIL TRANSPORTATION NOT BAD CURRENTLY AS WEATHER DELAYED HARVEST ALLOWS TRAINS TO BE ON TIME.  EXPECT THAT TO CHANGE AS HARVEST CRANKS UP.

·        FARMER SELLING PACE REMAINS EXTREMELY LIGHT.
