New contract lows traded today for corn, wheat, and soybeans. There is likely more downside risk in all of these markets as traders are seemingly overlooking demand and focusing on the huge crop coming our way. Some are looking for a further increase in yield projections for the USDA S&D report for both corn (approaching 180 bpa?) and soybeans (near 50 bpa?). Only time will tell, but early indications point toward this crop getting bigger, not smaller in the October report. It looks like we’ll have a nice weather window to get harvest moving here in Iowa – warmer, drier weather on the way.

Corn closed 6 cents lower

Soybeans closed 14 cents lower

Wheat closed 14 cents lower

Have a great weekend!
