Between corn, soybeans, and wheat, the only positive close today was August soybeans. What gains were made yesterday were lost today with new crop soybeans dropping 8 cents and new crop corn making contract lows. The story? Weather, great weather. Nothing looks to be threatening the ongoing corn pollination and the weather remains favorable for soybeans; this week also provided some needed time to get caught up on spraying. Additionally, the trade expects improvements in crop ratings next week for both corn and beans. One supportive piece of news announced a new crop soybean sale into China, but with record soybean production projected, that was quickly shrugged off.

Corn closed 8 cents lower

August Beans closed 2 cents higher, new crop beans 8 cents lower

Have a great weekend!
