FEED
The Feed Department at FC is overseen by Feed Vice President, Chris Pearson. Functional areas in feed are Accounting, Clerical Billing, Information Management, Merchandising, Operations, Quality Control, and Sales and Marketing.
Accounting
All feed accounting duties are handled by the Feed Product Accountant. These duties include budget coordination, expense allocation, entering expense information into the accounting system, and managing and monitoring accounts receivables.
Clerical Billing
The Feed Corporate Clerical Billing Staff is responsible for feed ordering and invoicing for the vast majority of FC’s feed customers. Feed ordering is mostly centralized to improve communication and reduce mistakes. The corporate staff is supported by Locational Clerical Billing at each of FC’s feed manufacturing locations.
Information Management
FC’s Feed Information Manager is responsible for researching, coordinating, and implementing the Feed Department’s database and information control systems. This position is in charge of maintaining databases related to every aspect of FC’s feed business.
Merchandising
The Feed Ingredient Procurement Manager works with suppliers to negotiate purchase price , sets margins for feed products, communicates pricing with customers, maintains feed formulas, and works with department budgeting.
Operations
The Feed Operations Manager oversees operations for FC’s feed mills. Duties include handling personnel issues, construction coordination, and production optimization.
Each mill has a Feed Mill Manager who is in charge of operations at that mill. The Feed Mill Operators report to each respective Mill Manager. Additionally Feed Truck Drivers report immediately to the Mill Manager. The Mill Manager, Mill Operators, and Feed Truck Drivers are responsible for complying with the many FDA and industry regulations associated with manufacturing and delivering feed.
Quality Control
The Feed Quality Control Manager is responsible for monitoring and improving FC’s feed quality control program and ensuring its success by working with the Feed Operations Manager and feed mill personnel.
Sales and Marketing
The Feed Sales and Marketing area is comprised by the Feed Sales and Marketing Manager, Swine Specialist, Feed and Livestock Specialist, and Beef Production Specialists. These employees handle customer relations and developing new customer accounts.
