Custom Applicator

Job Summary:  To apply agriculture pesticides and fertilizers to crop fields, deliver agronomy products, assist in grain department, and work with customers in a safe manner that maximizes departmental effectiveness.

•  

  Maintain a safe work environment according to FC’s policies and procedures
• Operate & maintain all equipment & vehicles according to FC procedures and all local, state, and federal laws
• Assist in loading and unloading suppliers, company, and customers vehicles with product based upon work orders and/ or customer tickets
• Load and fill UAN, dry fertilizer and NH3 equipment
• Operate floater, post sprayer and tender trucks to apply products to the appropriate fields
• Operate a semi & straight truck in the off-season to cover vacations and peak days
• Assist in maintenance of equipment
• Assist in grain department when needed off-season

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year related experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  

Must have a valid driver's license with a Class A CDL and have or be able to acquire a custom applicator's certification.  The position requires the safe operation of a motor vehicle to perform the essential functions of the job.  The employee must meet the qualifications set forth in our motor vehicle safety policy.  Failure to meet these qualifications could result in removal from this position.
